Families Float on Jacobs Creek
On June 25th JCWA held our annual Family Float Day down Jacobs Creek! Even though water conditions were on the low side, the weather was wonderful and it was a great way to beat the summer heat!

JCWA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of our natural resources, rehabilitation of the creek and watershed, environmental education, and recreation.
Learn and discover topics about water, land stewardship, and the wildlife sharing Jacobs Creek watershed with us.
Help us in our mission to conserve, research, and restore Jacobs Creek and its surrounding land.
Explore the variety of natural spaces around the Jacobs Creek watershed through our many events.
Through ongoing sampling, monitoring, and research efforts across our watershed, JCWA is working hard to understand the ecology of our creek. Data like this not only informs our current projects, but identifies needs for future ones. Click to see the current stream conditions from our River Gauge
Through education and recreation opportunities, we get people of all ages out to the creek! By engaging the public with the natural spaces around them, we hope to foster the same love and respect for the environment that we have at JCWA. Click to see our Education and Recreation programs.

Saturday June 18th, JCWA headed to the Bridgeport Dam for the annual ORSANCO Riversweep. ORSANCO, or the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission, provides clean-up supplies like gloves, trash bags, and t-shirts each year to non-profits across the Ohio River watershed (a 204,000 square mile area spanning 11 states!). At our event, we had a great day with great weather and a lot of trash removed from our stream!
Our first pop-up paddling event on Friday afternoon was a great way to kick off summer! Even our four-legged friends enjoyed kayaking! If you missed our first paddling event, don’t worry there are still five more pop-up dates. Our next one is on June 15th from 1:00pm-5:00 pm. Find more information and additional dates here.
