Sunset Paddling

Join JCWA for a Afternoon on Acme Dam (Chestnut Ridge Park) to view the beautiful sunset! Spend the end of your day listening to the crickets and spotting fireflies while watching the sunset from the Laurel highlands

Kayaks and Canoes available, including paddles and PFDs (must be worn at all times) for rental, or b.y.o.b. (that's bring-your-own-boat!) and save on admission.

Open for all ages, minors must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

Things to bring:

- footwear with back (no flip-flops or slides, crocs and sandals accepted)

- a hat or visor / sunglasses

- a towel or change of clothes for after (restrooms on site)

Admission:

$15/person for General Public
Free if you B.Y.O.B (Bring your own boat)
Free if you are a JCWA member

Pre-registration is required to ensure equipment is available.

Rentals include boat of choice (based on availability), life vest, and paddle for the duration of the event.

POP-UP PADDLING

Looking for something fun to do this summer?

Want to try paddling, but don't want to invest in equipment yet?

Love paddling, but hate hauling your bulky equipment around?

COME TO A JCWA POP-UP PADDLING EVENT!

Pop-Up Paddling Events are a great way to enjoy the sport of paddling without breaking the bank! JCWA has invested in a fleet of canoes, single and tandem kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards for the public to rent. Acme Dam (aka Chestnut Ridge Park, just off of Rt. 31 in the town of Acme) provides and its surrounding area gives participants good opportunities to see wildlife like turtles, herons, bullfrogs, and ducks, or just enjoy a relaxing float in the sunshine!

ADMISSION:

$15/person for General Public
Free if you are a JCWA member

Pre-registration is required to ensure equipment is available.

Rentals include boat of choice (based on availability), life vest, and paddle for 1 hr. Additional rental time available for purchase based on demand.

Group Paddling

Want to celebrate a birthday, get together with friends, plan a family outing, or just enjoy a day on the water with a group?

JCWA can schedule group paddling experiences at Acme Dam (Chestnut Ridge Park) upon request! Spend time on the water surrounded by the beautiful Laurel Highlands while enjoying a fun and relaxing outdoor experience.

Kayaks and canoes, paddles, and PFDs are available to rent.

Group paddling events can be arranged based on availability and are a great option for:

Birthday celebrations
Family gatherings
Friend groups
Work or organization outings
