Mt. Pleasant Green Infrastructure Design and Permit Project
JCWA received an EPA Section 319 Storm water Management Program grant, administered by DEP, to design green infrastructure measures ( aka BMPs or Green Streets measures) for several areas of Mt. Pleasant. These measures will address urban storm water flows from Mt. Pleasant while adding beauty and color to the area! The Markosky Group is designing these measures, which will include porous paving, curb and sidewalk plantings, storm water collection and rain gardens. Measures will be implemented along Main Street ( Rt. 31),near Kennedy Avenue and at the parking lot of the Mt. Pleasant Shop N Save. These measures will help slow erosion-causing storm surges to Shupe Run and decrease urban pollution to the waterway. This project will be completed by the end of 2014.
